How to Remote Shutdown Computer

Overview

This is a brief and simple tutorial on how to shut down a remote computer. I included images to make it clear and easy to understand. First thing is you need to know the ip address of a remote computer you want to shutdown. Second is to check if your computer is connected to a remote computer through LAN connection or internet. This tutorial is for educational purpose only. Follow and ready carefully the instruction.

Steps

1.    Go to start click Run and type cmd and hit ENTER.

2. The black windows should pop up. Type “shutdown –I” without quotation and press ENTER.

3. New window appear like in the image below. In the Remote Shutdown Dialog click add and type the ip address of the remote computer you want to shutdown.

4.  In the comment text area, type in the message you want to receive by the remote computer. Click ok.

5.  You are done. Enjoy!
