CONNECT TWO COMPUTERS USING CROSS-OVER CABLE
Connecting two computers using cross-over cable is possible. You don't even need a hub or router to connect them. Here you can learn how to setup ip in each computer. This is a basic of networking that works in almost all computers, but only in Windows operating system we will test it. This is a step by step procedure, you don't even have a technical knowledge to perform this. You only need to do is follow the instruction and read carefully. But before doing this, I suggest that you must disable first each firewall to work this smoothly.
Things We Will Need
1. Two computers and windows operating system.2. Cross-over cable.
Steps
1. First we will connect the cross-over cable into two computers.
2. After connecting two computers, you are ready to set the ip of each computer.
Go to first computer, click start then choose control panel.
3. Now you can see Network Connections, double click it and it will show all the adapter installed in your computer. See figure below.
4. Choose Local Area Connection right click and choose Properties in the menu. You see it will pop up another window like in the image below.
6. You're done. Now next, we will configure the second computer. Repeat the procedure from 1 to 5 and this time the setting will be like that from below image.
TEST THE CONNECTION
1. Go to start click Run and type cmd.
2. In cmd type ping 192.168.0.1 -t or 192.168.0.2 -t. If you are successful your cmd must be similar to the image below, if not then you must again the setting and repeat all the procedure.
